Advocate’s Chambers Pro Bono Framework

18 St John Street Chambers continues to pledge commitment to Advocate’s Chambers Pro Bono Framework.

Advocate is the Bar’s national pro bono charity which helps applicants find free legal assistance from volunteer barristers. The Framework is an opportunity for all Chambers in England and Wales to establish their commitment to undertaking pro bono work and improving access to justice.

The commitment of the bar remains outstanding, and 18 St John Street are delighted to have put something back into the justice system through our members’ continued contribution. Pro Bono work is hugely important and is now needed more than ever before.

Environmental Commitment

We achieve this by:

  • Managing our waste sustainably
  • Encouraging recycling
  • Managing energy and water consumption
  • Ensuring correct maintenance of equipment
  • Encouraging the use of public transport
  • Educating, informing and training our staff and barristers
  • Reviewing the environmental management system regularly

To support these initiatives:

  • Fee notes, invoices and correspondence will be sent by email only
  • All papers will be sent for security shredding at the end of proceedings unless the client specifically requests their return in writing
  • All seminar and learning materials will be provided electronically unless otherwise requested in writing at the time of booking
