The team has cross-disciplinary expertise in related fields including mental health, family and care work, civil/personal injury and costs, tax, trusts, business and property and cover a wide range of seniority.
We can act on behalf of all parties including private individuals, local authorities, professional deputies, attorneys, healthcare providers, the Official Solicitor and the Office of the Public Guardian at all stages of litigation. Many practitioners can accept direct instructions to act under the Bar Standards Board Public Access scheme.
Our barristers deal with the full range of COP business including property and financial affairs, personal welfare and serious medical treatment, including issues of disputed capacity, validity of consent, deprivation of liberty and best interest decisions. We receive instructions to advise prior to and from inception of proceedings through to appellate work and satellite litigation ancillary to the COP.
