You may have seen in our previous blog, that many of the members and the staff in our chambers have chosen to get sweaty for charity!
Many of us have signed up to complete 5K of exercise, 5 days a week for 4 weeks and then make a charitable donation based on how much we manage to accomplish. We’re including other challenges too, such as weights training, tennis, Joe Wicks workouts and even, maybe, writing or crochet (creativity for charity).
As we wanted to donate to charities that are connected to our practice areas, we decided to split the funds between certain charities which we feel a strong connection to, here at 18 St John Street. And we are going to be revealing a charity each week of the challenge – so here we are with our first reveal…
We’re delighted to announce that one of the charities we’ll be donating to is The Care Leavers’ Association.
The Care Leavers’ Association provides essential help to care leavers, with a vision for “a good life in care, a good life after care”. So, this amazing charity aims to amplify the voices of care leavers and improve the current care system, as well as improve the quality of life for care leavers and to challenge and enhance society’s perceptions.
They provide advice, guidance and support, so that care leavers can forge their own path and reach their full potential. They also provide education to the public/service providers/the media by providing information, training and advice on the issues affecting care leavers in order to end negative stereotypes and enhance equality. In addition, they improve care services for care leavers and those still in care too.
So we have chosen them as one of our charities, in line with our family practice and simply because it’s a wonderful cause.
We can’t wait to see what we manage to achieve and to raise for this charity and the other (soon to be revealed) charities. Keep your eyes peeled for our next charity reveal and for any #fitnessforfundraising updates.
