Victoria Roberts has recently successfully settled a pre-trial claim made by a care home business against a broker for undisclosed commissions which were added to the company’s unit price of energy consumed.
The broker also resisted any attempt for an expert in the industry to provide assistance to the court on how the unit prices were inflated to achieve a commission payable to the broker. The court nevertheless considered that it would be assisted by such evidence at trial.
This settlement represents a positive step forward in the business energy claims sector.
